Definitely one way to really check them out is request them to chat online with you using a webcam as this will really identify who they are. If they don't have a webcam then more than likely they are not who they say they are and that will be a quick and abrupt end of possibly being scammed. As well another indication as mentioned in your blog post is if they ask for money which is definitely the sign that one is to be scammed. Best to cut ties with those members that you meet via an online dating site when they request money from you.
